(about 50 km northeast of Mexico City), during the first centuries AD a huge
cosmopolitan metropolis, influenced much of Mesoamericas culture. On the right
and left side of the 2 km long Calzada de los Muertos you'll find a lot of
relicts of this ancient town. The most impressive ones are the Piramide del Sol
(70 m high) and the Piramide de la Luna at the northern end of the Calzada de
los Muertos. Interesting too La Ciudadela with the Templo de Quetzalcoatl. View of the Calzada de los Muertos with the Piramide del Sol on the right and the Piramide de la Luna at the end of the Calzada (left).
Piramide de la Luna with the Plaza de la Luna. I climbed the Piramide del Sol with its 248 steps, of corse. What a magnificent view. The Piramide del Sol seen from the Ciudadela (right) and from northeast.
Templo de Quetzalcoatl (above) and details (below) Walk to the Palacio de Tepantitla, with workers having their siesta. Frescos in the Palacio de Tepantitla, the residence of the priests. The raingod Tlaloc, attended by priests (above) and how life might have been in the Paradise of Tlaloc (below). Looking back with my camera to the Piramide del Sol, proving that I've been there. It was great. Very impressive! Videos from Teotihuacan. From left ro right: View taken from the Piramide del Sol; Frescos de Tepantitla; view taken from a ancient construction close to the Piramide de la Luna.
